Liturgy

Loma is liturgist this week.

Call to Worship
Beloved Companions of the Way, Come together to hear the Good News.
Our ears are open & our minds are receptive to the ways that God seeks to meet us.
Join with your sisters & brothers to discern the movement of the Spirit among us.
We are aquiver with the sense of the Holy One’s presence.
Seek the Christ in the faces of those you encounter--here & everywhere.
We are here in order to be reminded that we can find the Divine in the most unexpected of places.
People of God, let us worship the Sacred in our midst.
Prayer of Approach
Loving Creator,
We seek your presence now & always, in all that we do and in all who we are.
Guide us to the places you would have us be.
Help us to speak your Gospel & show others the good news.
Faithful Friend, we pray this knowing you hear us & care. Help us to hear & care about the prayers of others.
Amen.
The first scripture reading, which is the beatitudes found at Matthew 5:3-13, will be read responsively--Loma will read the first part and the congregation will respond. The words will be on the screen.

There are no special offerings this week.

Music for Sunday

Lizzy Beach has chosen some wonderful pieces of music for Sunday:
  • Restless Weaver, CH #658 (Phyllis will accompany this on her guitar.)
  • What Does the Lord Require of You?, CH #661 (A cappella?) This is done during the reading of the scripture as our 2nd scripture reading.
  • My Life Flows On, CH #619 (I'm going to see if I can play this on my mountain dulcimer.)
  • One Spirit of Love, Words on Screen (either a cappella or with the cd)
In addition, during the Prayer in Music time, I'll play "Table of Love" on the computer.
