Call to Worship
Where do you know God?
I find God in my heart,
written there from the depths of time.
What stories of God can you tell?
I can relate stories of grace and love
that have accompanied me on my journeys.
How has God aided you?
God has brought healing and support into
my life through the ministering care of others.
With praise and gratitude, let us worship this very God who claims each of us as God’s own.
*Prayer of Approach (prayed in unison)
When we stray from the path that leads to you, searching in vain for an experience more fulfilling, you guide us back, lovingly grasping our hands to lead us once again to your way, Gentle Journeyer.
When we seek to quench our thirst and fill our grumbling stomachs with the offerings of a culture gone haywire, you tenderly speak into our ears and say “Take, eat” and “Drink of this,” Broken Savior.
When confusion and frenzy grip our souls and we long for joy and beauty, you weave in and around us, prodding us to join you, Dancing Spirit.
As we approach you in this our time of worship, help us to be attentive to you and the community in which you have placed us. With the church in earth and heaven we join this prayer.
Amen.
DJ will then read the first scripture reading, from Jeremiah.
